Pakistan's New Gwadar International Airport conducts first full-scale emergency drill

Pakistan’s New Gwadar International Airport has successfully conducted its first full-scale emergency drill, marking a major milestone in operational readiness. According to the Pakistan Airports Authority, the exercise tested emergency response mechanisms in line with international aviation standards. All relevant institutions and response agencies participated to assess coordination, safety protocols, and crisis management systems. The drill reviewed airport emergency procedures, operational preparedness, and passenger safety measures. A China-assisted 4F-grade facility under CPEC, the airport is designed to support large aircraft, regional connectivity, Gwadar Port operations, and Pakistan’s growing role as a regional trade and transit hub.
