Gwadar starts receiving 2 MGD water from Shadi Kaur Dam
Gwadar has begun receiving two million gallons per day (MGD) from Shadi Kaur Dam after more than three years, marking a crucial step toward easing the city’s water crisis. The Gwadar Development Authority (GDA) reactivated the 83 km pipeline under directives from Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, ensuring supply through the main transmission line. Alongside, desalination projects and new household connections are underway to diversify sources and meet the city’s 3.5 MGD demand. This milestone offers much-needed relief for residents who have faced severe shortages due to prolonged drought.
