Gwadar Port to be powered through solar initiative
Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Junaid Anwar Chaudhry announced plans to power Gwadar Port through solar energy to tackle chronic power shortages and support the city’s development. A high-level sub-committee has been formed to design solar panel systems, storage solutions, and distribution networks for the port, desalination plants, and water facilities. The initiative aims to make Gwadar more energy self-sufficient, reduce costs for industries such as fisheries, and enable new opportunities including factories and the Gwadar International Airport.
