Gwadar Port Begins First Commercial Bunkering Operation
Gwadar Port has successfully completed its first commercial bunkering operation, marking a significant milestone in expanding its maritime services beyond cargo handling. During the operation, an LNG carrier received 2,500 metric tonnes of very low sulphur fuel oil, demonstrating the port’s growing operational capabilities. The launch of commercial bunkering is expected to attract more international vessels, strengthen Gwadar’s position as a regional trade and energy hub, and support Pakistan’s blue economy, logistics sector and local employment.
