Govt eyes Gwadar for China industry relocation

Amid the US-China trade dispute, Pakistan is positioning Gwadar as a prime destination for relocating Chinese industries. The government is crafting a strategic framework to attract Chinese manufacturing by offering incentives and easing regulations. Recent directives from the Cabinet Committee on Chinese Investment Projects urge swift action, including a roadmap by BOI and key ministries. Steps also include facilitating exports from Gwadar, initiating a Foreign Currency pilot project in the Free Zone, and improving infrastructure. These efforts aim to establish Gwadar as a relocation hub for Chinese businesses.
