China-Pakistan Economic Corridor promotes modernisation, multilateral cooperation

The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) has been a significant factor in strengthening cooperation between China and Pakistan. Research from the Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies highlights CPEC’s role in enhancing infrastructure, industrial growth, and environmental sustainability in Pakistan. Notably, the corridor facilitates critical transport links, such as the $8.9 billion road project connecting Gwadar Port to Kashgar. Additionally, CPEC supports industrial development through the creation of Special Economic Zones, boosts human development with education and healthcare projects, and strengthens regional connectivity, notably through the strategic Gwadar Port.
